More than a course...
Join us for a language course with a twist... next Easter and Summer, we are bringing young people together from across Europe and the UK to combine English language learning with cultural exchange and global discovery. Taking place at Bootham School in the historic city of York and suitable for those aged 12 to 18. Here is a taste of what to expect.
- Join young people from around the world to form a unique multinational community
- Develop specialised language knowledge tailored to your needs, age, interests and abilities.
- Build from the classroom, using your language knowledge to explore the English speaking world beyond.
- Live on site and enjoy exclusive use of the school’s extensive sports and recreational facilities.
- Visit the Yorkshire coast, the North York Moors and a ride on the steam railway used in the filming of Harry Potter!
- Get a taste of London with two days to discover the UK’s iconic capital, including a major West End show.

Longer Study Placements
More than a trip
Take the plunge and join one of our longer study programmes at York College or Bootham School. Placements last between 3 months and 1 year, giving students the opportunity to spend and extended period living and studying in the UK. Founded in 2017 and leading the work of Embrace England since 2025, we want to inspire young people to be the best version of themselves. Our aim is to give them the skills, friendships, and confidence to build a better future together. We work with organisations and individuals from our base in the northern English city of York to deliver this goal. Here is how...
- Delivering residential experiences for 12 to 18 year olds – helping them develop language and interpersonal skills in partnership with others, from the UK, Europe and beyond.
- Supporting high-school and college placements, providing the opportunity for people to spend an extended period of time learning and living in the UK.
- Helping young people living in the UK to meet prticipants from overseas and take part in activities alongside them.
- Developing bespoke projects and partnerships, working with school groups, Further and Higher Education centres, community organisation and others.
