We will stay at the Edinburgh Central Youth Hostel, located in the city centre and few minutes walk from the main train station.

Members of the group will have exclusive use of shared rooms and have access to all social spaces and dining areas.

To give maximum possible flexibility and because some student may be travelling from different places, travel to and from Edinburgh is not included in the price. However, we will be reccommending trains and offering accompanied transport to those students studying in York. This will also mean students can spend additional free time in Edinburgh if they wish.

We will provide further advice about this and how to book train tickets in Janaury 2026.

We will have a highly experienced team in Edinburgh during the trip to ensure that everyone is properly looked after throughout the experience. Jon Bell will be leading the group and can be contacted via email at: [email protected]

Before the tour we will ask all participants to provide us with details of any dietary or medical needs, personal contact details and contact details for at least one parent or carer.

The official start of the trip will be at check-in at the Hostel on 15th February. Students travelling from York will also have the option to travel to Edinburgh with a member of staff.

The trip will include some periods of independent time, but with close support from members of staff should there be any issues. Participants and parents will also be given an urgent support number available 24 hours a day during the trip.

All meals will be included from the evening meal on 15th February to lunch on 17th. All other group programme activities will also be included in the cost.

Participants may choose to spend money in their own free time on gifts, snacks etc, but this is not an essential part of the experience.

Note that participants are advise to bring their own towels, or hire them for a small fee from the hostel (circa £5). Participants are also advised to bring their college/school photo ID card, but, not their passports.
